Tamer Abdallah - new senior coach!

The Northern Saints is pleased to announce, Tamer Abdallah has been appointed as the Senior Coach for 2022.

Tamer’s record speaks for itself, and is one of the most respected players to come out of the area.

A local product of Marlborough St in Fawkner, Tamer has amassed 217 games, showing great efficiency as a midfielder chiming in with 175 goals.

He was the Division 1 Competition Best and Fairest in 2013 being awarded the Dick Reynolds medal, on his way to Captaining the club to its first, and only Senior Premiership.

Tamer has also won 3 Club Best and Fairest’s, and been selected in several Team of the Year sides.

After a brief stint at Westbourne in an Assistant role, Tamer returned to the Saints and this year took the reigns of his first team, our Under 16’s Boys.

After starting with small numbers, followed by some heavy losses, Tamer helped build the squad, finishing the season on top and being awarded the Premiership.

Tamer now looks to guide his beloved Saints back to its former glory, as he takes on a job he has craved for some time.

Tamer brings to the table great communication skills, an ability to teach and mentor, and sound knowledge of EDFL Football.

He, along with the Football Department, will firstly look to lock in any uncontracted players, then will look to bolster our stocks through his network of football people.

Tamer is looking to build on the foundations laid by outgoing coach, Peter Lohner, who blooded several youngsters, fresh from our junior ranks.

The club would like to thank Peter, Geoff and Tiz for their efforts in 2020 and 21, in extremely difficult circumstances, and would also like to wish Tamer the best in his endeavours.

Go Tamer and Go Saints!
