Glynn Matthew - 2022 Under 18.5 Boys Coach

The last of our Senior Coaching Appointments is our Under 18.5 Boys Team.

And it’s a congratulations to Glynn Matthey who has been reappointed for 2022.

Glynn has done a fantastic job of guiding our Under 18.5’s the last 2 years, but this year finally got the chance to coach them in real competition.

After an always difficult start to preseason, and a tough first practice match, Glynn was able to help build a good core playing group who quickly found their feet. After some adjusting, and just before the season came to a halt, the team had its best win of the season topping Keilor 2 at home by 2 points, confirming itself a finals berth that never actually eventuated.

Glynn was rewarded with the job after proving to be a great leader to the team. He was always positive and persistent, and is a loyal person to the club, having the clubs best interests at heart.

Glynn proved this by being awarded the joint Club Person of the Year in 2019, for his work with our 3rds team.

He is looking forward to a new tenure, and has already started making contact with next seasons playing group, to ensure come preseason, these boys hit the ground running.

So if any boy is in that age group, expect a call from Glynn shortly, but maybe just make sure your battery is charged at 100% 😉
