Training

Training for the 2010 is as follows;

Seniors & Supers:

Every Tuesday & Thursday starting at 6.00pm sharp.

U18's:

Every Monday & Thursday starting at 6.00pm Sharp.

The club has access to a vast array of training resources,

  • 2 sporting ovals
  • equipped gym
  • athletics running track
  • local arena with mod surface
  • local aquatic centre
  • running track along Merri Creek

Greetings & welcome back,

 

Please note that we have 33 scheduled sessions prior to our round one clash with Keilor Park. 

The time is now.

Coming off a pretty disappointing year the opposition clubs will be looking to continuing that on into 2010. You are the one who must ensure that change occurs…!!!

So where does that put you…?!

Honesty time…

What did you do over summer, is it enough..?

You still have time but we cannot afford to wait for you. There are 21 positions up for grabs on the 18th April in the inaugural game for our season.

Are you going to be in that side?

What are you doing now that makes you a walk up start..?

Do you have a weakness in your game that needs work? 

Would you like to be aerobically fitter?  Do you want to be stronger and faster?  Do you want better skills? 

 

The time is now to work on these deficiencies and turn them into strengths!   We as a coaching group are going to present you with opportunities to develop your weaknesses into positives. Use these times wisely to get yourself physically and mentally prepared to have a successful and enjoyable season from both a personal and a club perspective.  Do all you can to be the best footballer you can be for the Northern Saints FC as we re-establish our name and reputation as a hard hitting, fit, committed, professional, spirited and respected team in 2010.

 

As per pre-Christmas training, we have scheduled three compulsory training sessions per week from now for 8 weeks.  Trainig will start at We know this is a big commitment but it is our willingness to make sacrifices now that will give us the edge on our opponents come the season proper.  (See attached pages)

 

He who fails to prepare prepares to fail! 

 

Please remember that if you have any queries or concerns or you want to work on a particular aspect of your game, do not hesitate to ask any of the members of the coaching staff - we are here to make you better footballers whether you are a 200 game senior player, a 17 year old still plying his trade in the under eighteens, or a veteran in the latter half of your career – you can get better!

NB: Club singlets are available for $15 from our first session back and it is expected that all players purchase one ASAP and wear to all training sessions.

(You will be fined if you do not wear one after week 2, so it will work out cheaper to purchase one ASAP)
