Daniel Kays celebrated 150 games this weekend 17/5/09.  Daniel joined the club at the age of 7 as a junior for the North Coburg Saints Under 10s.

Daniel played for four years in Under 10s and then moved through the ranks to be one of the senior junior players for North Coburg Saints/Northern Saints Football Club.

Daniel also contributed to under 12s during his final years of under 10s and to the under 14s during his final years as an under 12 player.  Helping his fellow club team mates out when he could.

Daniel’s first achievement was being chosen to play in the EDFL under 12s combined side.

He has also been chosen for development squads with Calder Cannons both in under 14s and 16s and most recently the Angelo Lekkas Development Squad.

In Daniel’s under 10 years he was also a club escort for senior players on a Saturday afternoon, running out on the field with the senior boys before a game.

Daniel’s first milestone of 50 games was played whilst in under 10s and his 100th game in under 12s.

He has now reached his 150th club game in under 16s.

It has taken Daniel some time to reach this milestone because of injuries over the years including fractured wrist, knee – the list is endless.

Daniel has had many great years at North Coburg Saints/Northern Saints Football club and we hope he continues to have many more.

Bellal Mustapha - Club's Leading Goal Kicker 09

Bellal has now kicked 119 goals for the year.

Bellal started his career at ROXBURGH PAK FC five years ago playing as a back man in those years.

After being appointed coach for the northern saints under 16s we spoke to bellal knowing he was a capable player.

Bellal began playing in the centre and back line in the practice matches, until it was realize that he was a centre half forward because of his strong hands and fast leading and a  player that could get the other players into the game via his unselfish behavior

Bellal should have kicked about 150 goals by now but has been kind to his team mates and given the ball off to others many times in the games played thus far.

Bellal can turn the game single handedly and hurts when the team loses.

Two recent proofs of his success this year is his goals of course , his late call up to the edfl under 16s representative side and now we believe the Calder cannons are now looking at him.

Senior coach Mocca has plenty of time for the boy who plays like a man

Bellal is only 16 and has bright future in front of him.

In one game bellal took a towering 42 marks and kicked a record this year 24 goals in one game.

The reason for the team’s success this year is that bellal is not a bragging player and thus has made the other players want to be of similar ilk which has improved team performance.

Congratulations to Tony and all the boys in the under 14s team who brought the flag home on Sunday 23/8/09 against Maribynong Park.  Also congratulations to Matthew Gray Best on Ground Award.  View their photos by clicking on to the photo gallery page.

Congratulations Bellal

Bellal played well in a winning side which won the EDFL tournament for the under 16s.

Having not trained or played with the guys Bellal played well and made us proud.  Bellal's stats for the fame over the three quarters he played in the forward pocket were as follows:  12 kicks, 4 handballs, total of 16 possessions, 5 marks all contested, kicked 3 behinds, 4 tackles. This is definitely Bellal's year, he has kicked his way into our first book of records kicking 120 goals in one season for Northern Saints.
